We Put the “Sure” in Brochure

Brochures have long been one of the most popular ways to present details about products and services. And even with all the electronic devices that abound, brochures still have their place when you want to give a prospect something they can actually hold in their hands, take with them, and review anytime, anywhere, at their leisure.

Brochures are an excellent tool for going over talking points at tradeshows or displaying in racks during promotions or at points of sale. But it’s important to choose the size and format that will best tell your story and the quality that will reflect your brand. We can help you do that with confidence and professionalism.

  • Choice of sizes for two-, three-, or four-panel brochures
  • Many different folding options
  • 80-lb., 100-lb., or 10-pt. paper
  • Matte, gloss, or high-gloss UV coating
  • Standard turnaround in three to four business days; rush jobs in two business days

Sizes

The size and type of fold you choose depends on how much information you need to convey and how it can be best organized. Below are the sizes, before folding, that we offer:

  • 5.5 x 8.5
  • 8 x 9
  • 8.5 x 11
  • 8.5 x 14
  • 9 x 12
  • 11 x 17

The 8.5 x 11 is a popular size for both two-panel brochures and three-panel brochures. Another popular size for a three-panel brochure is 11 x 17. The 8.5 x 14 is widely used for four-panel brochures.

Folds

The fold format you choose is extremely important. The folding panels can be used to tease the reader into the brochure or provide additional facts that can stand independently to support the main message. The folds should not be an afterthought. Before you even write the copy for your brochure, you should give serious thought to how you want to organize the contents to make best use of the folds so you can pull the reader all the way through to your call to action.

  • Half-Fold

A two-panel brochure created by folding the paper in half. It opens like a book.
  • TriFold/Letter-Fold

The trifold cover opens to the left, revealing two panels, with the right panel serving as a flap that flips open to reveal the spread of three vertical panels inside.
  • Z-Fold

The Z-fold brochure is another option that consists of three vertical panels. The cover opens to the left, revealing two panels inside. But in contrast to the trifold design, where the right panel flips open, the third panel on a Z-fold is a flap that folds backwards, creating the Z shape for which this design is named.
  • Gate-Fold

The gate-fold brochure consists of three vertical panels, but not of equal width. The left and right panels are half the width of the middle panel and fold inward to create an elegant-looking double-door cover that opens to one big spacious spread inside.
  • Accordion-Fold (4 panels)

This design is similar to a Z-fold, but with four vertical panels. The cover opens to the left and each panel folds back onto itself in a zigzag accordion-style design that reveals all four panels when pulled open.
  • Roll-Fold (4 panels)

A roll-fold brochure, like the name says, is designed to roll outward or unfurl. The cover opens to the left revealing, a double panel. The right panel flips to the right and the left panel flips to the left to reveal two more flaps. Once completely opened, all four panels form a wide backdrop of four vertical panels. This inside spread is perfect for a large photo with call-outs or long copy divided into sections and broken up by smaller photos. This format lends itself to sidebars or stand-alone messages on the rolling flaps, building to the big story inside.

Paper Stocks

We offer three different paper stocks. The 80-lb. stock is a lighter weight paper, but with more durability than 70-lb. stock. It would be the choice if you are on a tight budget and don’t expect the brochure to have a long life.

The 100-lb. stock is the thickest weight and has a higher-quality feel. Because it is more durable, it is ideal for brochures that will be handled frequently.

We also offer a 10-pt. cardstock, which is thicker than paper, yet light enough to fold easily.

Coatings

We offer gloss or matte coatings as standard options. The gloss coating adds a shine that enhances the contrast and range of colors. It is often used in brochures to make full-color photos pop. A matte coating gives your brochure a softer, more subdued appearance without glare. You can upgrade to high-gloss UV for an additional charge. This premium coating maximizes the sheen and provides additional protection against smudges.

Customize to Your Unique Needs

With all these options, you’re sure to create a brochure that communicates your message in a compelling, memorable way and presents your organization in its best light. If you have questions, we are here to help.
